Behavior Charts

Isn't it strange after years of teaching you are still looking for new and creative ways to develop discipline in your classroom? Every year we hear from the teachers how we are going to have to get firmer when we discipline. I hate hearing,"Just wait until you get this group of kids!" It is even worse when you hear from the kindergarten teachers, "We have never had a group like this!" It really makes you think what are we doing wrong, or what is happening to our students. This year I have a great group of kids. I know that by May 30, I will be so sad to see these little guys go, and scared to death to get the new group. I constantly look to see if I should change my routine. Many of the blogs that I look at have wonderful ideas on discipline. I decided with all of this in mind that I would share the documents that our school (yes, K-5) uses. It really seems affective.Of course we use different methods within our classrooms to keep track the children's behavior, but the outcome is all the same. I hope you will take a look at our document. Use it if you wish. Send me comments on how affective or not it is. I look forward to hearing from you.

  1. Thanks Lesa! I love this idea. I'm going to share with the 2nd grade teachers at my school. 3rd and 4th graders use daily agendas but our kiddos are just too young for that. This might be a good compromise.
